A $100 investment by a college student in 1974 planted the seed from which has grown Toledo Door and Window to one of the most successful garage door and home improvement companies in the country, located right here in Northwest Ohio.

Then came a $100 ad in the local newspaper offering a handful of automatic door openers for sale; they were all sold and installed in a short time. This was the beginning of a company - Toledo Automatic Door Co, whose business philosophy included exceptional customer service, but with a sharp focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

That philosophy also features direct access to all management personnel by phone it’s a practice that continues to this day - but now with email too!

Robert Bollin, a local home town Toledo born native, joined the Toledo Automatic Door in 1977 as an experienced garage door installer. His experience brought the company full circle into the garage door and opener business. He then steadily worked his way up in the business, becoming a full partner in the early 1980’s, and then concentrated on growing the company's annual sales. He continued his local heritage by hiring some local high school carpentry class and business class graduates. All of those original people remain on staff today and hold management positions in the installation, service, and sales divisions of the company now recognized at Toledo Door and Window.

In 2006 Bollin purchased 100% of the company stock and remains President and CEO of the company. He continues to monitor the daily operations alongside the long term experienced management team. With this vast experience of the management team, and the continued focus on customer service and satisfaction, Toledo Door and Window has attained, and continues to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. That is the highest rating attainable for any business accredited by the BBB.

Through the years many additional home improvement products were added until today.

Now our product line includes more than automatic door openers but also garage doors, entry and storm doors, patio doors, replacement windows, motorized retractable awnings, and complete whole house siding options.

This brought about a name change in the fall of 2003 from Toledo Automatic Door Co. to TOLEDO DOOR AND WINDOW to reflect more accurately the products available.

Our customer-friendly strategy has worked so well that Toledo Door and Window was ranked #35 in the International Door Association’s Top 100 door dealer survey in 2006. Since 2006 the company has established themselves as a nationally ranked home improvement company, by being selected to Qualified Remodeler Magazines top 500 in the Nation.
